She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Edward and Lyda Mae Short; her former husband Don Dowty; her husband L. D. Tabor; her granddaughter Becky Dowty; and her great grandchild Brett Gregory.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Dowty (Marilyn), Ivan Dowty (Rosey) and Leanne Tabor (Steve); and her siblings, Paul Short, Ruby Johnson, Murphy Criske, Mattie Lambert and Janice Kidd. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
