He was predeceased by: his parents, Harley C. Root and Lillie Root (Barber). He is survived by: his wife Donna Root; his children, Elizabeth Johnston, Margaret Kaufman (David), David Root and Patricia Mann (Rex); and his grandchildren, Monica Watson, Adrienne Morecraft, Harley David Root, Kristen Root, Matthew Root, Melissa Summar and Kyle Mann.
