She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Shields and Winnifred Shields. She is survived by: her children, Samantha Diana Hancock (Jay), Shirley Marie Gower (Daniel) and Johnathan Edwin Mims McMillan (Holly); her siblings, Mike Shields (Barbra), Leslie Shields, Sue May (Mike Clark) and Anita Vandevar (Mike); and her grandchildren, Daisy Marie Gower, Maggie LeeMae Gower, Zoey Divine Gower, Ellie Mae Gower, Reed Edwin Mims McMillan and Sawyer Thomas Ekadal McMillan.
