He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Henry Stafford and Anna Belle Stafford (Cope); his brothers, Leon Stafford (Delnah) and Lonnie Stafford; and his grandson Weston Spiva.

He is survived by: his wife Susan Stafford; his daughters, Cassie Leatherman and Lea Anne Steelmon; his grandchildren, Ryan Spiva, Mason Leatherman, Amelia Leatherman and Lainey Leatherman; and his pet Annie.
