Cindy Cox Obituary
Cynthia "Cindy" Sue Cox of Blackwell, Oklahoma went to be with her Lord and Savior June 16th 2022 at the age of 56. Cindy Sartin was born March 8, 1966 in Blackwell, the daughter of Bill Sartin and Sue (Parker) Sartin. She attended Blackwell Public Schools, graduating in 1984 then went on to Southwestern Oklahoma State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She taught reading at Blackwell Elementary School since 2004. While attending Southwestern, she met Bart Cox at the Baptist Student Union. Both graduated from Southwestern in 1988. Bart took a job at Blackwell High School as the Industrial Arts teacher shortly after. A little later, Cindy returned to Blackwell and some friends set them up to ride together to a dinner party at Furr's—they started dating shortly after. They were married in Blackwell on July 15, 1989. Cindy and Bart have three children: Kara, Rusty, and Amy. Cindy loved gardening, walking, baking her famous bread, serving at church, quilting, and reading. More importantly, Cindy loved people deeply and with no conditions. She loved to spend time with her family, extended family, grandkids, friends, students, and coworkers—she could strike up a conversation with anyone and people couldn't help but be drawn to her. But more than anything on this earth, she loved her Savior, Jesus. She faithfully read God's Word and shared Christ with anyone who crossed her path—she treasured God's Word and regularly quoted verses in conversations. She wanted everyone to know the joy and hope found in Christ. Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Sue Sartin, brother, William "Billy" Sartin and father-in-law Jim Cox. Cindy is survived by her husband, Bart Cox, children: Kara (Jeremiah) Custar of Durham, NC, Rusty (Alexa) Cox of Wichita, KS, Amy (Samuel) Collins of Blackwell; grandchildren: Malachi and Zoe Custar of Durham, NC, Jonathan and Brooklyn Cox of Wichita, Baby Collins of Blackwell; her siblings: Ben (Jackie) Sartin of Fort Collins, CO, and Denise (Mike) Loveall of Fulshear, TX, and in-laws: Roma Cox of Moore, OK, Brad (Karen) Cox of Oklahoma City, OK, Brent (Donna) Cox of Edmond, OK.
