He was predeceased by: his former wife Carol Nix; his parents, Flora Mae Nix Pinnell and Elbert Nix; his siblings, Shelba Hardin, Kenneth Nix and Gerald Pinnell; and his son-in-law Wayne Dorris.

He is survived by: his wife Beverly Jones Nix; his daughters, Tracey Gibson (Brian), Stacey Petty and Marcy Gaines (Nathan); his grandchildren, Launi Stokes, Lee Gibson, Katie Bradley, Leslie Burton, Colby Dorris, Lucas Gibson, Addy Fletcher and Ally Schenk; his siblings, Wanda Miller, Donna Orr, Marilyn McClellan and Michael Pinnell; and his siblings-in-law, Margie Smith, Clarence Smith and Bob Lewis. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Sunday, February 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Leonard-Marker Funeral Home (6521 E 151st St S, Bixby, OK 74008). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Bixby Free Will Baptist Church (15801 S Memorial Dr, Bixby, OK 74008).
