Linda Fay Lucas Obituary

A memorial visitation has been scheduled from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M. Sunday, September 26, 2021 in the Leonard-Marker Funeral Home. Linda Fay Lucas passed from this life on September 16, 2021 in Holdenville, OK at the age of 64. Linda was born on October 30, 1956 in Cincinnati, OH , the youngest of 5 children born to Joseph Paul and Fannie Lucas.

She grew up in Ohio and moved to Bixby, OK as a teenager to live with her sister, Lois. She resided in the Bixby area most of her adult life. In 2018, she became a resident of Boyce Manor in Holdenville. Linda attended college at Bryan Institute where she majored in the medical field. In the early 80's she worked on the pediatrics unit at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa and sometime later became a dental assistant working for Dr. Mencough.

She then began a career working the cafeteria for Bixby Public Schools until her retirement in 1990 due to disabilities from back surgeries. Linda was blessed with two daughters and had a special bond with both of them. She could often be heard saying how proud she was of her daughter, Lisa for the life she had made for herself.

Her daughter, Jennifer was her who she called "sissy" and lived with Linda for most of her adulthood. Linda loved cats and always had one, or a few. Her favorite actor was John Travolta and she was always watching the movie, "Pulp Fiction", rewinding it to the part of John Travolta dancing. She loved anything to do with history and enjoyed watching country music videos.

Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandson Caleb and watching him grow up. He was her Baby Boy. Before her mother, Fannie passed away, you could always find Fannie, Linda and Jennifer together, the three were inseparable. She also enjoyed taking trips to Kentucky to visit her relatives that lived there. Linda recognized within the last year that her time was short and she took the time to reconnect and reinvest in the lives of those most important to her.

She loved her family and her daily phone calls to the will be greatly missed. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter; Vanessa Lynn Hayes, 1 brother; Jesse Lucas, 1 brother-in-law; Bobby Hood, 1 cousin; Danny Wilson, 2 sons-in-law; Timothy Smiley & David Blocker and 1 niece; Deanna Bacon. She is survived by 2 daughters; Lisa Brown and fiance Billy, of Mannford, OK & Jennifer Smiley and fiance Aaron Hester of Oklahoma City, OK, 2 sisters; Lois Hood of Bixby & Sue Folk of Las Vegas, NV, 1 brother; Daniel Lucas of El Paso, TX, 8 nieces & nephews and her 8 grandchildren; Kelsi, Kassidy, Caleb, Adasynn, Bryson, Colt, Jaylin & Kiah.
