He was predeceased by: his grandson Michael Lee Wilson, Jr.; his great grandchild Annabel Petrone; his wife Carolyn Faye Matlock; and his siblings, Betty Jo Matlock, Zoneta Lee Matlock, James Basil Matlock (Jim), Clara Louise Matlock-Lewis and Hondeana Matlock Hawkins.
He is survived by: his siblings, Hazel Pitcock, Elaine Williams, Janette Matlock Raver and Mike Matlock; his children, Robert Wayne Matlock, Jackie Cheryl Matlock and Brenda Carol Matlock; his grandchildren, Tony Matlock, Travis Matlock, Michael Fritz, Tiffany Schutts, Christopher Wilson and Brandi Wilson; and his great grandchildren, Sebastian Wilson, Dexter Glasco, Karma Blackston, OakLee Blackston, Thomas Petrone and Magnolia Petrone.
