It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Jo (Hogan) Smith of Bixby, Oklahoma, born in Leonard, Oklahoma, who passed away on October 7, 2021, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Hogan and Violet Hogan (Willey); her husband Art; and her siblings, Lula, Buster, Bill, Ken, Ralph and Fred Hogan.
She is survived by: her former husband Arthur E. Smith; her children, Janet Hall of Bixby and Russ Smith (Tonia) of Bixby; her sister Freda Bell of Sand Springs, OK; and her grandchildren, Jesse Hall, Dustin Hall, Jenee Hensley, Ross Smith, Blake Smith, Jake Hanus, Meagan Rodgers and Jessica Youngwirth. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson, several nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and longtime friends.
She also served the community as a charter board member of the Daily Family YMCA and was a longtime member of the Bixby Educational Endowment Foundation.
