He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Monroe and Rachel America Troxel (Humbird); his wife Noma Lee Ellen (Renfro); and his siblings, Clifford Melvin, Flora Imogene, Vester Orville of Virgil Lory, J. B. and Dorothy Verneal (Coffield).
He is survived by: his sister Mary Nadine (Maloy); his children, Linda Darlene (Watkins) and Steven Richard; and his grandchildren, Paul David, Rebecca Suzanne (Bateman), John Stephen, Elisabeth Ann, Mark Daniel, Steven Michael, Timothy Michael, Ariel Rose, Sara Michelle (Weishaar) and Philip Andrew. He is also survived by thirty-two great-grandchildren.
