He was predeceased by: his father Duane Schmitt. He is survived by: his wife Marianne Walraven Dunn; his mother Jane Schmitt Boer; his birth mother Kate Keating; his children, Brittany McGinnis (Mitchell McGinnis), Bryton Schmitt (Riley Schmitt) and Brixton Schmitt (Gracie Wimmer); his grandchildren, Ryan, Brecken and Barrett McGinnis; his sister Beverly Hood (Mike Hood); and his half-siblings, John Keeler (Elizabeth Keeler), Hannah Vaughn (Clanton Vaughn), Margaret McKay (Steve McKay) and David Williams (Kim Williams). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
