He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Madison Irvie and Pauline Wanda Pierce (Peterman); his wife Maxine; his daughter Jamie Beth Jay (Bobby); his grandchildren, Tristan (Maria) and Jordan Smith; and his brothers, Paul (Gwyn) of Taloga, OK and Leon (Jackie) of Utah. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
