He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Sauer and Clara Sauer; his brothers, Jack and Bob Sauer; and his sons, Fredrick Dean Sauer and Daniel Dwayne Sauer.

He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Sauer (Barrick); and his children, Brad Barrick (Shelia) of Woodward, OK and Dela King (Brent) of Yukon, OK. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
