She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Oleksa and Veronica Oleksa (Sabol). She is survived by: her husband Thomas "Tom" Couch; her daughters, Laura and Heidi; her granddaughter Lisa Wegener; and her siblings, Paul Oleksa (Pat), Veronica Gronemyer (Steve), Fran Adair (Warren), Mike Oleksa, Joe Oleksa (Nancy) and Steve Oleksa (Karen). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family.

Memorials may be made to United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) in Elaine's name.
