She was predeceased by: her parents, C. Josephine Newman (Russell) and Wilford P. "Red" Newman; her husband Johnnie D. Underwood; her sons, Johnnie Dail Underwood and Rickey Lee Underwood; and her sister Joann Lyle.
She is survived by: her sister Reva Coley; her daughters-in-law, Susan Underwood and P. J. Underwood; and her grandchildren, Raquel Sprague (Randall), Roxana Smith (Robin Wright), Jason Underwood (Sean Underwood) and Johnnie Loudermilk (James Thrasher). She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
