He is survived by: his wife Jennifer Ann Cates; his sons, Wayne David Cates, Andrew Buchanan Cates and Luke Douglas Cates; his mother Judy Mae Cates; his stepmother Frances Carolyne Cates; his brothers, John Paul Cates and Chad; his sister-in-law Rebecka Lineberry; his brother Robert; and his sister-in-law Tiffany Cates. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
