He was predeceased by: his stepsons, Rick Gentry and Shawn Humphrey; his brother Ronald Thompson; and his half-siblings, Juanita Richardson, Charles Griffin, Earl Griffin and Pauline Bray.
He is survived by: his wife Janice; his children, Rita (Bryan Archer) of Sand Springs, Scott, Erin Thompson of Longview, Kay Schollenbarger (Ron) of Dewey and Whitney (Brad Brown) of Owasso; his sister Nellie (Bobby Hull) of Plano; and his grandchildren, Madison Archer, Serra Thompson, Mykuhl Thompson, Cameron Schollenbarger, Connor Schollenbarger and Hadley Brown. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to The Journey Home in Bartlesville or the Parkinson's Foundation of Oklahoma.
