He was predeceased by: his parents, Gus "Toots" Dean Mathis and Eupha Glee Mathis (Chaffin); and his siblings, Barbara Sue Rivers, Jerry Wallace and Bud Mathis.
He is survived by: his wife Francine Casstevens; his children, Mitchell Dean Mathis (Megg) of Amarillo, TX, Sheri West (Roger) of Amarillo, TX, Frank Gibbs (Shirley) of Amarillo, TX, Michele Tupin of Atwood, OK and Danny Mathis of Amarillo, TX; and his grandchildren, Ben Mathis of Calvin, Joel Mathis (Debbie) of Calvin, Pete Mathis (Dena) of Eufaula and Marsha Mathis of Atwood, OK.. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
