He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruben Bowden and Annie Bowden (Williams); and his sister Alta Mapp. He is survived by: his wife Helen Darlene Bowden (Perryman); his daughter Brenda Clinton of Ardmore; his grandchildren, Bryan Lee of Knoxville and Lauren Lee of Oklahoma City; his great grandchildren, Lane, Kendall and Sophia; his children, Greg Bowden of Basking Ridge and Rebecca; and his siblings, Charles Bowden of Ardmore, Bob Bowden of Ardmore, Jim Bowden of Choctaw, Oklahoma, Gladys Holt of Stillwater, Novella Shebester of Madill, Jean Cullum of Mead and Paula Phillips of Tucson, Arizona. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews.
