With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Rita Kay Philpot (Ardmore, Oklahoma), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 26, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Rita Kay may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Rita Kay touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Watterson and Bernice Watterson (Newman); her husband Russell Philpot; her stepfather G. W. Vineyard; her siblings, Gary Vineyard and Kathy Pearson; and her brother-in-law Kenny Philpot.
She is survived by: her son Rusty Philpot; and her siblings, Belinda Tate (Jim) of Norman, Steve Watterson of Ardmore, David Vineyard (Pat) and Sherry Parrott of Ardmore.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hillcrest Funeral Home (1610 C St, Ardmore, OK 73401). A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Baum Assembly of God (351 Baum Rd, Ardmore, OK 73401).
