He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Dempsey and Martha Adele Akers. He is survived by: his wife Latricia Akers; his son Tyler Akers (Laura) of Ardmore; his siblings, Charles Akers (Jerri) of Aledo, Texas and Marilynn Bender of Westminster, Colorado; and his grandchildren, Everett Akers and Emerson Akers of Ardmore. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
A celebration of life was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Griffin-Hillcrest Funeral Home (1610 C St, Ardmore, OK 73401).
