He was predeceased by: his parents, John H. Hayes and Viola A. Clark Hayes (Mary E. Grigsby); his siblings, Ray, W. O. Hayes and Darla Juanita Hayes Davis; his granddaughter Sarah Hayes; his parents-in-law, Fielding and Edith Grigsby; and his siblings-in-law, Kenneth E. Davis, Fielding, Tony, Don Grigsby, Diane Grigsby of Wardell, MO and Nancy Ritter.

He is survived by: his sister Doris Jo Hayes Elmore of Lindsay; his children, Doug Hayes Jr., John Hayes and Teresa Duncan; his sisters-in-law, Ruth Hayes and Joyce Grigsby of Ardmore, Oklahoma.; his grandchildren, Christopher Hayes, Aaron Hayes (Stephanie), Rylee Hayes (Rachel) of John Hayes, JR, Bruce Crowson of Ardmore, Russell Price (Samantha) of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Whittney Hayes Hunter (Brandon) of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Erika Price of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Katrina and Wes Cole of Allen, Texas.; his great grandchildren, D. J. Fields, Landon, Addilyn Hayes, Logan Hayes, Madison Wood, Mallory, Olivia, Chloe Hunter and Brailee Gaines of Lone Grove, OK.; and his daughters-in-law, Debra Hayes and Sandra Hickman of Ardmore.
