He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Herman and Bessie Allen Beach Kent; his wife Vivian Blanton; his son Robert; his grandsons, Casey Mehagan and Justin Kent; his great grandchildren, Blaze Kent and Mason Wood; and his siblings, Allen Kent, Earnest Kent, Charlie Kent, Jr., Cecil Kent, Ruby Parrott, Claudine Kent, Neoma Perkins, Retha Castleberry, Juanita Wood and Lorina Cross.
He is survived by: his children, Rene Kent, Sharon Galicia, Jo Pemberton (Billy), Donna Marris, Debbie Frasier (Jemey), Shannon Boatman (Sherri) and David Kent; and his close friend Joan Brooks. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.
