He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Ketterling and Carolina Ketterling (Eckman); his former wife Ida Ketterling (Maier); his sons, Ted Ketterling Jr. and Gary Ketterling; his siblings, Alvin Ketterling, Reuben Ketterling, Elmer Ketterling, Ruth Vilhauer, Viola Schenk and Ida Buckle; and his grandson Theodore Brent Ketterling.

He is survived by: his spouse Zetta Jordan Ketterling; his children, Shirley Bartley (Ray) of Moore, Oklahoma, Rick Ketterling (Judi) of Claremore, John Jordan (Jackie) of Skiatook, Joyce Halcomb (Joe) of Branson and Bill Rutz (Betty) of Ponca City, Oklahoma; his daughter-in-law Diane Ketterling of Choctaw, Oklahoma; and his brother Leo Ketterling (Lucille) of Rupert, Idaho. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
