He was predeceased by: his wife Dora Jane Penick; his parents, William Penick and Eunice Penick; and his brothers, Pete Penick, Roy Penick, Vernon Penick, Cecil Penick, Lewis Penick, Edward Penick and Terry Jr..

He is survived by: his former wife Dora Jane Sawyer; his sisters, Lucille Jones, Maybell Smith, Cora Landsdale, Almetta Bicknell and Bertie Duke; his children, Joe Sawyer (Michelle) of Roland, Ronald Lee Penick (Tonya) of Antlers and Kathie Penick of Antlers, Oklahoma; his sister Judy Penick of Atoka, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Richard Stigall of Antlers, Jonathan Penick of Antlers, Nicholas Penick (Amber) of Antlers, Stephanie Merck (Nicholas) of Antlers, Chris Rose (Kayleen) of Muldrow, Heather Rose of Tamaha and Ashley Rose of Muldrow, Oklahoma; and his great grandchildren, Ava Rose of Muldrow and Leeam Merck of Antlers.
