He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Gernand (Akins); his children, Mary Lynne Cooper (Earl) of Norman and Bradley E. Gernand of Durant; his sister Nadine Self of Hugo; his granddaughters, Miranda Cooper Beatty of Norman and Megan Cooper Moiser of Ada; and his great grandchildren, Cooper Beatty, Archer Beatty and Barrett Charles Beatty.
