He is survived by: his wife Melva Jean Sherrill; his children, Rodney Thompson of Anadarko and Carla Marshall (Justin) of Kingfisher; and his siblings, Dwight Thompson of Eufaula, Darlene Aebischer and Doris Jones. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren along with other relatives and many friends.
