Merle Duane Covalt Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Merle Duane Covalt in Alva, Oklahoma, born in Woodward, Oklahoma, who passed away on March 5, 2023 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James Covalt and Nora Covalt (Benne); his siblings, Mark Covalt, Carl Covalt, George Covalt and Mary Land; and his nephews, Clayton Hendershot, Wes Covalt and Brian Land.

He is survived by: his son David Duane Covalt (Kerri) of Alva; his granddaughter Barbara Michelle Covalt; his wife Barbara Faye Covalt (Owens) of Alva; his grandchildren, Hunter Covalt-Wiederstein (Erin) of Noble, Clay Covalt-Wiederstein of Edmond, Ashkon Covalt of Oklahoma City, Aaron Pierce (Katelyn) of Woodward, Evan Pierce of Tulsa and Alaina Pierce of Alva; his great grandchildren, Lynlee Pierce and Drew Pierce; his siblings, Dale Covalt (Ila Joy) of Woodward and Dora Goodmiller of Kingman, Arizona; and also Woodward Florist. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and extended family and close friends.
