He was predeceased by: his parents, Denver Harmon and Mary Louise McMurphy (Shreeve); and his sisters-in-law, Rita McMurphy, Devona McMurphy, Marna Finney and Afton Nichols.
He is survived by: his nephew Allen McMurphy; his wife Elma McMurphy of Alva; his sons, Craig McMurphy of Tulsa and Curt McMurphy (Megan) of Edmond; his grandchildren, Kacie Urbeck (Kevin) of Winfield, Ryan McMurphy (Nora) of Boston, Cole McMurphy and Will McMurphy of Edmond; and his siblings, Robert McMurphy of Alva and Thelma Crouch (Allen). He is also survived by nieces and nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the J.R. Holder Wellness Center at Northwestern or the Preston Hill Cemetery (in the Farry community).
