She was predeceased by: her parents, Vernon B. Whitten and Erma Rose Houston Whitten; her spouse Athel William Frederick; her daughter Diana Lynn Dial; and her brothers, Vernon "Butch" Whitten and Bill Whitten.
She is survived by: her children, Carolyn Ross (Darin) of Allen and Michael McCarn (Teri) of Atwood; her stepchildren, Richard Frederick, Kathy Iker and Calvin; her grandchildren, Grace Ross, Brittany Dial, Kourtney Dial, Hunter McCarn and Cheyenne McCarn; and her sisters, Vernalene Olberg, Betty Henry and Sharon "Cooke" Alexander. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
