He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Benjamin Reece Carter; his former wife Mary Sue Hurd; his wife Sue Carter of Alex; his mother Margie Rogers (Buddy) of Sallisaw; his children, Shelli Carter of Alex, Gina Hughes (Josh) of Alex and David Carter of Alex; his grandchildren, Shaci Clack of Texas, Kierstien Shaw of Chickasha, Kylie Hughes of Lindsay, Audrey Carter of Chickasha and Bayli Carter of Alex; his great grandchildren, Juliette Stumblingbear of Chickasha and Logan Reece Hughes; and his siblings, Diane Vaughn (Leon) of Washington and Jimmy Dale Carter (Brenda) of Catoosa.
