He was predeceased by: his daughter Brenda Kay West; and his brothers, Robert, Charles, Herbert, Fred, Cletus and Frank West.
He is survived by: his wife Sherry West; his children, Robin West, Elizabeth Marling (Mark), Scott Phillips and Doug West (Amy); and his sister Lucy Boggs (Leonard). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
