He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard R. Hardman and Shirley M. Novaria Hardman; his brother Richard "Rick" Hardman; and his nephew Marcus Bustillo. He is survived by: his children, Abby Fitz (Mike), Bobby Hardman and Amy Mitchell (Will); his siblings, Beverly "Bev" McCarty (Patrick) of Lancaster, PA, Douglas "Doug" Hardman (Minta) of Winchester, VA and Holly McPhillen (Bryan) of Coshocton, OH; his grandchildren, Carter, Campbell, Colbie, Liam, Kai and Haiden; the mother of his children Karen Hardman; and also Laura Hardman. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
