He was predeceased by: his parents, Billie Fields and Crystal Fields; and his brother William E. Fields "Pete". He is survived by: his fiancée Julie Gebhart; his stepdaughters, Asia Gebhart and Macy Gebhart; his son Melvin Fields, Jr. (Semora) of Dover, DE; his sisters, Rosa Conway of Philadelphia, PA, Joyce Mohades of Richmond, VA and Judith Trent of Columbus, OH; and his aunt Estella Farmer Bloomfield. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
