He was predeceased by: his parents, Bryson Wells and Katherine Wells (Baughman); his children, James Lee Wells and Thomas Vinton Wells; his sisters, Juanita E. Wells, Delores Parshall and Lucille Wright (Ralph); and his sister-in-law Shirley Wells.
He is survived by: his children, John Wells Jr. (Heidi), Kelli Hartley and Michael Wells (Lori); the mother of his children Gay Morgan; his siblings, Donna Roberts (Don) and Jerry Wells; his grandchildren, Brandon Wells, Nicole Wells (Randy Euman), Chelsie Wells (Ben Drake), Lexy Bianchi (Brett), Kristen Hunt (Joshua Hashman) and Wade Hartley; and his great grandchildren, Jocelyn Ford, Jayda Wells, Ashton Wells, Carter Terrill, Vinton Wells and Nolan Bianchi.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Burrell Funeral Services (414 La Salle St, Zanesville, OH 43701). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
