He was predeceased by: his parents, John David Burns and Ruth Lodge Burns; his sister Betty Ruggieri; and his sister-in-law Kathleen Morrison. He is survived by: his wife Carol Sanders Burns; his children, Diane E. Young (Gary Dragoon) and John D. Burns (Jane); his grandchildren, Jessica Burey (Jed), Jonathan Young, Alyssa Bouterse (Jordan), Hannah Burns (Jake Wolfe) and JJ Burns (Leikyn DalPonte); and his brothers-in-law, W. Robert Morrison and Pete Ruggieri. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
