He was predeceased by: his parents, Cletus Schlater and Georgia Schlater (Hill); his sister Nancy Snurr; and his brothers-in-law, Mike Snurr and Randy Archer.
He is survived by: his child Later; his wife Annette; his children, Race Schlater (Bailee Hampton) and Samantha Kanavel (Wesley); his grandchildren, Colt, Briar and Annie Kanavel; his siblings, Juanita Steuer (Rick) and David Schlater; his siblings-in-law, Tim Archer (Janet), Dan Newcome (Annette), Jodie Pape (Mark) and Robin Archer; and his friends, Joe Botson, Billy Funk, Ron Lafferty, Steve Clark, Eric Jones, Todd Thompson, Travis, Julie Sterling and Glenna Cotterman. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
