He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Barnes and Alfred Barnes; his wife Ruth Jones Barnes; his brother Walter; and his daughter Barbara.
He is survived by: his brothers, Howard, Floyd and Paul; his children, Phillip (Jan) of Colorado, William R. (Jane) of Colorado and Judith (Brian) of California; and his granddaughters, Julia (Max) and Jessica.
