As Sondra departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Sondra may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Sondra leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Wayne Stevens and Zella Beam Stevens; her husband Harry J. Updyke; her sons, Kevin W. Updyke and Timothy Scott Updyke; and her sisters, Sally Turkovich and Bonnie Knipple.
She is survived by: her children, Rachael Updyke of Niles and Dennis John Updyke (DaRita) of Niles; her daughter-in-law Betty Updyke of Quarryville, PA; and her sister Diane Wargo of Johnstown, PA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall (152 North Rd, Niles, OH 44446). A funeral service was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
