She was predeceased by: her parents, Luella Reed Jones and Harry Reed; and her grandsons, Dewayloyn Carter, Wendell Carter (Marie Mitchell) and Michael Mitchell (Mildred "Cookie" Thomas).
She is survived by: her children, Leonard "Dean" Carter, Derek L. Carter and Shannon L. Carter; and her grandchildren, Kendra Lett, Eliot Carter, Leonard Dean Carter Jr., Emmanual Carter, Lenaja Weir, Mylan Martin, Imari Bradley, Chanteera Blackshear, Derek Carter Jr. and Nataya Garner. She is also survived by 8 Great Grandchildren. 3 Brother in laws and 6 sisters in laws.
