He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Fred Ashman and Mattie Braley Ashman; his wife Janet Jones Ashman; his son Robert "Chip" Ashman, Jr.; his stepdaughter Amy Norton (Bill) of Pittsburgh; his sister Phoebe Mayle of Florida; his grandson Tony; his great grandchild Bentley; his sisters-in-law, Rose Ashman of Hubbard and Patty Bush (Floyd); and his daughter-in-law Nancy Ashman. He was also cherished by many other grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
