With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Merle Burton of Youngstown, Ohio, who passed away on March 22, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Merle departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Merle may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Merle leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Carleton E. Sr. Woodruff and Merle Woodruff (Miller); her husband Ralph Clayton Burton; and her siblings, Carleton E. "Sonny" Woodruff Jr. and Marion R. "Carlie" Ferris.
She is survived by: her daughters, Christine C. Coxson (William), Paula S. Burton and Michelle T. Burton. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 64 great grandchildren and 32 great-great grandchildren along with nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 25th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:50 PM at the Thompson Filicky Funeral Home (4221 Market St, Youngstown, OH 44512-1119).
