She was predeceased by: her parents, Mark Whalen and Mary Agnes McHugh Whalen; her siblings, Mark Whalen and Helen Jean Whalen; and her sister-in-law Anna Whalen.
She is survived by: her children, Edward F. Sturgeon of Canfield, Mary Patricia "Patty" Sturgeon (Richard Kelshaw IV) of Melbourne, Florida, Mark Sturgeon (Cindy) of Girard and Kelly Symbolik (Greg) of McDonald; her granddaughter Megan Sturgeon; her children, Brian Sturgeon, Colleen Cooper (Brett), Haleigh Sturgeon, Patrick Sturgeon, Caitland Kelshaw (Richard Sanford), Patricia "Trish" Kelshaw (Britton Schaeufele) and Connor Symbolik; and her great grandchild Kennedy Cooper.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers that contributions may be made to St. Edward's Church, 240 Tod Lane, Youngstown, Ohio 44504.
