He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard A. Stanley and Catherine R. McDonnell; his stepmother Jean Stanley; and his brothers, Richard A. Stanley Jr. and James Stanley.
He is survived by: his wife Katherine Carlson Stanley; his siblings, John S. Russell III, Patricia E. Stanley and Christina S. Morello (Anthony); and his siblings-in-law, Terry Carlson (Carol), Chuck Carlson (Ellen), Dave Carlson (Net) and Sue Silvis (Brian). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
