He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Tate and Margaret Tate (Gross); and his brother-in-law John Flickinger. He is survived by: his children, Leslie James Tate, Jr. and Amber L. White (John); his siblings, Roy A. Tate, Jr. and Evelyn Y. Flickinger of Las Vegas, NV; and his grandsons, Carter Devins, Clayton Reid and John White, Jr.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
