He was predeceased by: his parents, Artie Patton and Carlena Knight Patton; his wife Bonesse Patton (Richey); his daughter Barbara McCoy (Patton); his siblings, Leonard, Artie, Ronald, Barbara Ann, Charles Carlena (Connie) and James (Jimmy); his great grandchild Artrell Dill; and his son-in-law Jeffrey A. Oates Sr..
He is survived by: his children, Julia M. Oliver of Youngstown, Vanessa May (Julius) of Youngstown, Tracey E Oates of Youngstown, Karen Patton of Youngstown and Bishop Roderick L Hennings (Pamela) of Amherst, NY; and his siblings, Patricia L. Patton of Bowling Green, Sandra Watson of Youngstown and Paul Patton (Mary) of Youngstown. He is also survived by "Papa"; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
