It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John A Shaw Sr. (Youngstown, Ohio), who passed away on January 8, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, George Shaw and Irene Monroe Shaw; his son Victor Shaw; his siblings, George, Raymond, Fred Shaw and Mary Shaw; and his granddaughter Sade Shaw.

He is survived by: his wife Linda B. Shaw; and his children, Cynthia Mitchell (Charles) of Glendale, Ariz, Joan Thomas (George) of Campbell, Angelia Shaw and John Jr. Shaw (Dionne) of Columbus. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 10 to 11 a. m. Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023, at L. E. Black, Phillips and Holden Funeral Home, with a funeral service at 11 a. m. Guests are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing.
