He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Metzinger and Bertha Farrell Metzinger; his siblings, Joseph Metzinger and Anna Rose McNally; his great grandchild Emily Sue Koltonski; and his wife Joanne A. Cleary.
He is survived by: his children, Joseph Metzinger (Kim) of Youngstown, John Metzinger (Donna) of Boardman, James Metzinger of Canfield, Thomas Metzinger (Vinetta) of Austintown, Robert Metzinger (Shelly) of Columbiana, Michael Metzinger (Jona) of Elyria, OH, William Metzinger (Dawn) of Poland, Joan Koltonski (Frank) of Fuquay Varina, NC, Mary Ann James (John) of Midlothian, VA, Patty Billec (Mark) of Canfield and Pamela Smith of Boardman. He is also survived by twenty-three grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to St. Christine Church.
