She was predeceased by: her parents, Dock Sr. Mays and Leora Scott Mays; her son Bruce Sims, Jr.; and her siblings, Fred Mays and Mary Foster.
She is survived by: her children, Alvin Sims, Tina Sims and Sharla Sims; and her siblings, Dock Mays, Virginia Mays and Nisi Mays. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
