He is survived by: his wife Diane C. Dagan; his children, Patty Schrankel (Mark) of Long Island, NY, James Carter, Jr. of New Castle, PA, Terrie Cameron (Jim) of Naperville, IL, Florence Attisano (Marc) of Bessemer, PA, Casper Thomas (Sharlee) of Pulaski, PA and Christopher Thomas (Vision) of Union, PA; his siblings, Curtis Carter (Bonnie), Diane Warren (Bill), Allan Carter, Lewis Carter and Shirley Groh (Joe); and his sister-in-law Holly Carter. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
